Mood Swing golds, ceramic, glass, 30" h x 24"w, 2003

Mood Swing began with a heavy box from Italy and a doodle. The box was a shipment of new golds ranging across the color spectrum. They made me so happy and I wanted to use all of them, right that minute.   The doodle was a continuous line that I'd been playing with for a while.   It ripples and moves in on itself before undulating out and around, again and again. The rainbow of gold combined with the squiggly line to express complex and hopeful emotions.
